About TravelNurseMap

An independent planning companion for travel nurses and allied health travelers. Free, no account needed.

Why it exists

TravelNurseMap started with a travel-nurse friend comparing her next contracts. The pay, the housing stipend, the rent near the hospital and what the hospital is actually like were spread across recruiter emails, government rate tables and group chats. This site puts them in one place so you can check an offer before you sign, not after.

It isn't a job board, a staffing agency or a tax advisor. We don't place nurses, take referral fees from agencies or hospitals, or remove accurate reviews on request.

Where the numbers come from

  • Hospitals (4,049 pages across all 50 states, DC and Puerto Rico): CMS Hospital General Information, Jul 22, 2026.
  • Stipend ceilings: GSA per diem FY2027 (effective Oct 1, 2026). The housing ceiling is the GSA lodging rate for the work ZIP × 7 nights.
  • Compact license status: NCSBN, checked 2026-10-11.
  • Charting systems: CMS Promoting Interoperability + ONC CHPL, 2023–2024 reporting.
  • Essentials and food near 426 hospitals: Overture Maps Places, Sep 23, 2026 release.

Each page cites its source and date. Guides explain the rules with links to the official documents, and say plainly when a professional hasn't reviewed them yet. Nothing here is tax, legal or financial advice.

How traveler reviews work

Hospital reports are published per unit once 3 travelers have shared, and agency reviews once 3 have. Names and emails are never shown. The privacy promises page has the details, including the review guidelines.
